The Queer Britain

Award 2021

ILLUSTRATIONS COURTESY OF JUSTIN KEMP

Queer Britain has teamed up with wine brand Madame F to launch The Queer Britain Madame F Award. This year’s theme is Queer Creativity, inspired by illustrator Justin Kemp, who designed the Susy the Frog image featured on the Madame F wine label.

Send us an illustration, painting, drawing or photograph that celebrates the theme Queer Creativity, along with a maximum 200-word explanation about how your entry represents Queer creativity and what that means to you. There are three cash prizes and winning entrants will be exhibited by Queer Britain. Winning images will help support the mission of Queer Britain in setting up our national LGBTQ+ museum, for all, by featuring on official QB merchandise.

The Theme: What does Queer Creativity mean to you? How would you express that in an image? It could be a painting or drawing, illustration, collage or photograph - Anything 2D!

The Prizes: Send your entry and up to 200 words on what the theme means to you and how you’ve expressed it in your entry, and you could win one of three cash prizes - £1500, £1000 or £500 – and your artwork will support the foundation of the national LGBTQ+ Museum by featuring on exclusive Queer Britain merchandise and be exhibited and possibly published.

AWARDS CLOSE ON 12 NOVEMBER

WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON 6 DECEMBER

“I am proud to be on this jury. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ+ people, of all ages, and our artistic endeavours. Queer Britain is working very hard to set up a national LGBTQ+ museum, and this award shows that queer creativity is at its very heart.”
