Join the Museum of Transology and Queer Britain to help create a display on what family means to the trans community, using objects from the Museum of Transology’s collection.
We’re looking for 20 intergenerational participants who identify as trans to join us over the course of four workshops at Queer Britain: The National LGBTQ+ Museum. The workshops will help shape a new display looking at the theme ‘Live Laugh Love’. The display will use objects from the Museum of Transology’s collection to curate a display looking at themes of domesticity and family.
Participants will have the opportunity to: Learn curatorial skills from heritage professionals at both Queer Britain and the Museum of Transology. Listen to a sector specialist each workshop on topics such as collections care, curation and archives. Co-curate a display with a diverse group of trans individuals which will be on display at Queer Britain in collaboration with the Museum of Transology. The sessions take place on the following dates:
Saturday 9 May 9:30am – 1:30pm (Queer Britain)
Friday 15 May 11am – 3pm (Bishopsgate Institute)
