On 18 October 2022, we held a VIP reception to celebrate the opening of our inaugural exhibition, We Are Queer Britain! Originally planned for earlier in the summer, it was postponed due to the exceptionally hot weather shutting down travel. Sponsors, donors, supporters, trustees, staff, friends and volunteers gathered for a private view, enjoying drinks kindly supplied by Diageo and Madame F and live music by newcomer, Ellauro. Speaking at the event, Director and Co-Founder Joseph Galliano-Doig also announced the launch of the 2023 Madame F Queer Britain Art Award and that the exhibition itself had been shortlisted for an award by the Museum Association, which it later won.
